2013 Tolerance Week

Tolerance Week, sponsored by the Gerald L. & Kathleen A. Weiner Foundation, is celebrating the 8th year. All events are free and open to the public.
  • Monday, April 1: 2:30 pm Art teachers workshop at Briar Cliff
  • Tuesday, April 2: 6:00 pm Poetry & Music event at the Sioux City Conservatory of Music
  • Wednesday, April 3: Main Event: "Blessed is the Match" shown at 7:30 pm at Sioux City Orpheum also at 11 am Film Director comments at West Iowa Tech
  • Thursday, April 4: 6 pm showing of "Bully" at the Sioux City Art Center
  • Friday, April 5: 6:30 Yom HaShoah & Shabbat Services at Congregation Beth Shalom

First Night Seder

Congregation Beth Shalom will celebrate the Passover Holiday at a Kosher Seder on Monday, March 25th at 6:30 pm. Special Passover services include:
Tuesday, March 26 - 9 am Morning Service with Torah & Haftorah Reading
Tuesday, April 2 - 9 am Passover & Yizkor Service (10 appx)
Passover will also be celebrated at CBS Minyans and Shabbat Services.

2013 Goldstein Lecture

The 2013 Goldstein Scholar, Dr. Amy-Jill Levine, will present a free lecture on Thursday, March 21, 2013 in the Yockey Room, Olsen Student Center on the Morningside College Campus.
Levine, a professor of New Testament and Jewish studies at Vanderbilt University Divinity School and College of Arts and Sciences, will speak on "Jesus, Judaism and Jewish-Christian Relations."
The lecture is free and open to the public.
